Harris cm was appointed to undertake works to increase the production capacity of the first brewery outside of Holland to brew the famous Heineken brand. The works involved the supply and erection of a new supporting structure for four no horizontal fermenting vessels at the Manchester Brewery, Denmark Road, Manchester, for Heineken UK Limited.
The scope of works was subsequently increased to provide an additional “storey” to increase the number of vessels to six. The structure incorporates 160 tonnes of steelwork
Each tank is 17 m long with a diameter of 5.8 m – 450 m3 or 450,000 litres capacity.
The works were undertaken within a continuously operational production on a tight, inner city site.
