Harris has secured contracts worth £3million with Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd to upgrade two of the company’s six UK manufacturing sites.
The work will see us deliver upgraded facilities at Morpeth in Northumberland and Sidcup in Kent.
The £2 million project in Morpeth will see Harris strip out and demolish the existing facilities, which were built in 1981, and construct a new extension that will house a new packaging area. The site produces 2 million cases of still and sparking water every year and has four manufacturing lines.
The £1 million project at Sidcup involves the creation of a new process line within the existing production facility which has six manufacturing lines. The site produces over 42 million cases of Coca-Cola every year and employs 280 people. The factory started production in 1961 and it fills 5,000 bottles and cans every minute. The new process line will come into operation in May 2016.
