2 NEW restaurants for Nando’s

hcm interiors have completed two further restaurants for Nando’s at Edinburgh and Ashford (Kent) at a combined value of £2.1m within the respective programme’s.
The Edinburgh facility was a former four story Royal Bank of Scotland Bank and the Ashford project is the first “stand only” retail park restaurant completed by hcm interiors.

Residential award – Deptfold, London

hcm projects have negotiated with KG Projects to build a complex of six apartments along with two commercial units in Deptford High Street, London.
This 24 week construction project, value £600k will provide ideal apartments for professional people who work in the City or Canary Wharf.
The building combine’s steel and timber construction is located on a confined and restricted site adjacent to Deptfold Market.

Asda – Yorkshire XDC – South Elmsall

hcm projects have now completed this initial 21 week contract, value £3.65m for Asda to the former Netto warehouse at South Elmsall.
The work consists of the refurbishment to this former Netto distribution centre to allow Asda to operate this warehouse as a chilled and ambient cross dock (XDC) facility.
This 249,000 sq.ft. building will now incorporate 34 dock doors, 4 freezer doors, 20 double deck doors and 8 level access doors.

Other works consist of:
Removal of existing warehouse racking, demolition of the front of the building to faciltlitate new access doors, new refrigeration plant, upgrade of transport and main offices, extensive civil/structural works for new access doors, new sprinkler system and upgrade to the M&E services throughout.

2012 Asda Investment Programme

hcm facilities have successfully re-negotiated with Asda the 2012 Distribution Capital and Revenue investment programme, circa £5m.
This nationwide programme covers items such as maintaining and renewal of building envelopes, office and welfare areas, chill facilities, fuelling systems, docking bays, external yards and car parks, etc.

Warehouse base build on 22 acre site at Wynyard Park, Teesside

hcm projects have commenced their role as advisors to the Client, Clipper Logistics Group for the base build of a 342,000 sq/ft, cross docked warehouse on a 22 acre site at Wynyard Park, Teesside.
This is the prelude to our main role as the Project Managers for the £7.25m fit out works on behalf of Asda George and Clipper.
This 43 week overall programme includes 44,275 sq/m of three tier mezzanine structures part cantilevered over vehicle docks, enhanced dock doors, all building services including sprinklers, furniture and external works.
Other features include upgrade of concrete floor specification to enable the installation of a “Hanging Garment System (GOH)”
Future provision of truck wash and re-fuelling enhanced external lighting, security fencing, turnstiles, etc.

Goodman Restaurants at Canary Wharf and Mayfair

hcm interiors have completed the two new restaurants for Goodman at Canary Wharf and Mayfair within the budget of £1.2m and programme.

The Canary Wharf restaurant is has an exciting riverside location whilst the new prestigious Mayfair “Burger and Lobster” restaurant boasts an 11 metre bar.

Nando’s restaurant is completed at Great Portland Street, London

Another Nando’s restaurant is completed at Great Portland Street, London within the 13 week programme and cost of £1m, including the management of the client’s direct suppliers and sub-contractors.
This former two story Lloyds Bank building has been converted into an outstanding new Nando’s restaurant including new frontage, and some unusual internal features such as:
• “Zinc” Bar and canopies
• Use of scaffold boards as a ceiling feature
• Sand blasted oak feature wall
• “Car Style” seating (Jaguar car seats) using scaffolding poles as a framework for the seats

Asda Distribution- installation of a further 20 Double Deck loading bay door system’s

HCM have commenced the second phase of the supply and installation of a further 20 Double Deck loading bay door system’s at various locations within the Asda distribution warehouse network.
This phase of Asda’s programme will be completed within eight weeks at a cost of £900k

HCM have completed another project for Asda with the re-furbishment of the existing distribution facility at Warrington.

The extensive range of works to this 375,000 sq.ft. building was completed within the 10 week programme and budget of £750k.

The re-furbished building will enable this distribution centre to operate as a XDC facility (cross docking system – fast turnaround facility).

The re-furbishment involved extensive work to the Data connection system, vehicle re-filling station, and axel weighing facility and a counterbalance LPG fuelling installation.

Asda – Various Distribution Centres. HCM have completed the supply and installation of 39 Double Deck Loading bay door systems to various centres in the Asda distribution network system within the 10 week programme and cost of £1.2m.

370 is the number of single vehicle journeys saved each year for every double deck trailer used by Asda in place of the conventional type of single deck trailer.

The significant use of these double deck trailers reduces the impact of deliveries of essential goods to Asda stores in city/town centres as well as reducing the volume of heavy vehicles on the main motorway and trunk road network.

The saving to Asda is not only the cost of fuel but it is playing a part in reducing CO2 emissions.
